TDP Victorious at TimeAttack Round 5

Today, with the weather threatening to rain all day, the TDP team proved once again, that superior car preparation yields wining results time after time.

In the practice session, the timing system was not 100% working and may not have recorded all the times, but it showed the TDP R32 GTR to be the quickest car of the session. Track conditions were not good for either of the Qualifying sessions. In the first session, a pro-car blew it’s engine, and continued to drop oil and coolant over half of the track. This caused one serious off for a club class competitor, and luckily for him, no damage was done. All the TDP cars decided that the conditions were too treacherous and retired to the pit lane to sit out the session.

In the second session, a car dropped coolant over half the track, and while not as bad as in the first session, it still made for interesting driving. This did not stop Brendan Stone in the TDP EVO VI from setting a storming time of 1:00.5. The TDP GTR was stuck in the pits for this session with a power steering belt shortage.

In the club class, Dean Reilly was having fun and continually setting the fastest time.

The final was a worry for the TDP crew, as they were worried about the track conditions. This turned out not to be a problem, and the TDP GTR stopped the clocks at 59.727. Followed by Brendan Stone, with a time of 59.736, only 0.009 slower than Robbie’s time.
The suspension set-up Robbie had done on the EVO was helping, as the TDP cars were the only cars in the 59 second bracket.

The TDP team all use the Kumho V70a tyres.

Here are some photos of the GTR.
